"magical, ARTROOM" has curated an emerging artist exhibition called “WORM HOLE episode3.” Members of the magical have selected appropriate emerging artists for the manifest. The exhibition is not aimed for a mere “group show” but it is curated to create relationships with each other and as a collected installation of “magical”.
All three of the participating artists use papers as material for this exhibition. Kozo Uchida paints imaginative worlds, which could be described as “WONDER WORLD,” is planning to execute a dynamic wall painting. Yukiko Shibata draws a dreaming girl and the delicate organic forms. Emi Otaguro captures the yawning of the imaginative monsters (Japanese long-nosed goblin and a unicorn) by making scratches on board papers. The exhibition expects you to catch a glimpse of “WORM HOLE” of reality to another world.
Though it is difficult to predict the direction of global/dynamic current of contemporary art and the nature of inner expression of movement/action, we are hoping to suggest one of our cases to you.
企画趣旨
このたびmagicalでは、新人企画展「WORM HOLE episode3」を企画しました。magicalのマニフェストに相応しい新人作家を、運営メンバーが選出。しかし、単なる「グループ展」ではなく、お互いが関係し合い、全体として、一つの「magical」としての、インスタレーションとなるようにキュレーションを行います。
今回は３人全員が紙を使った作家。「WONDER WORLD」ともいうべき、空想の世界を描く内田耕造は、壁に大胆にウォールペインティングを行う予定です。一方、柴田由貴子は、夢見る少女と繊細で有機的なフォルムを紡ぎだします。そして大田黒衣美は、空想上の怪物（天狗やユニコーンなど）があくびをする様を、ボード紙にスクラッチの切り込みを入れて表現します。実世界からアナザーワールドへの「WORM HOLE」が垣間みれる展示をご覧いただけるはずです。
グローバルかつダイナミックな現代の芸術の流れ、その一方での内在的な表現の動き・運動性がどの方向を向かうかを予測するのは難しいですが、我々なりの一つのケースを提示することができればと考えます。
