We are pleased to announce that our next show entitled “WORM HOLE episode 7” will open its door on June 30th. 4 directors of “magical, ARTROOM” select 2 emerging artists along the line with the magical’s manifest. "WORM HOLE episode7" is curated in the way the works of the 2 artists, Hyon Gyon and Ai RYUMON evoke one magical space - a unity.
Both Hyon Gyon and RYUMON use the motif of hair. The hairs in their works are creatural, also elastic, and have sense of instinctive drive. Something beyond “hair” has appeared in their works. We present paintings, sculpture and performance video of Hyon Gyon, and paintings of layer stocking series of Ai RYUMON.
It is indeed not so simple to predict where the trend of the contemporary art is headed, and to which direction act to seek representations for internal entities goes as our contemporary lives are globalized and becoming more and more dynamic. Knowing it is our reality, we present one of our suggestions to you.

I am very much pleased to introduce two emerging and powerful artists. Their talents do not come out from fuzzy territory of the borderline between deaths or alive. Their works do come out as thick achievement of physical sense with fretting over, jumping higher, banging the top of the table, swinging their hairs. Even though, they could not reach to cry, or to be hugged, they try to reach the equivalent intensity. I am proud to introduce two beautiful, strong and thrilling talents to you. このたびmagicalでは、新人企画展「WORM HOLE episode 7」を企画しました。magicalのマニフェストに相応しい新人作家を、運営メンバーが選出。しかし、単なる「グループ展」ではなく、お互いが関係し合い、全体として、一つの「magical」としての、インスタレーションとなるようにキュレーションを行います。
今回は、Hyon Gyonと龍門藍による展示です。２人の作品に髪が描かれていますが、その髪がとても動物的で、欲動的で、しなやかです。「髪」というモチーフをこえるものが絵から出ていると思います。HyonGyonは平面作品の他立体やパフォーマンスのビデオなども、龍門藍は、レイヤータイツシリーズを出品する予定ですのでぜひご覧ください。
グローバルかつダイナミックな現代の芸術の流れ、その一方での内在的な表現の動き・運動性がどの方向を向かうかを予測するのは難しいですが、我々なりの一つのケースを提示することができればと考えます。

バトルフィールドの女たち
ここに２人の強力な新人アーティストを紹介できることをとてもうれしく思う。彼女たちは、決してフラットな感覚のアーティストではない。死んでいるか生きているかの境界があいまいな領域から生まれた才能ではなく、肉体の感覚の、濃度の高い成果物として、作品が立ち現れてくる。思いつめたり、大きく飛び上がったり、拳で机をたたいたり、髪をふりみだしたり。例え、それが叫びにいたらなかったとしても、抱きしめられなかったとしても、それと同等の強度にたどりつこうとするのだ。絶対の自信をもって、ここに２人を紹介する。美しく、強く、そしてぞくぞくする才能を皆さん、ご覧あれ！！後藤繁雄（編集者／クリエイティブ・ディレクター／京都造形芸術大学ASP学科教授）
